STORY SLAM

CALLING ALL STORYTELLERS

SHARE YOUR VIET STORY AND WIN $500

What is a Story Slam?

A Story Slam is an event where five to six finalists, who have been selected from a submission pool, perform on stage and present their unique, creative, and authentic Vietnamese American stories.

What does  Mỹ Việt mean

Mỹ (American) Việt (Vietnamese) is the literal translation in Vietnamese. This is your opportunity to share a story on the Vietnamese American experience.

How will it work?

Each finalist will have no more than six minutes to tell their story. The use of props, background/transition music, and background images can be used to add more detail to their storytelling. However, notecards may not be used and no videos in place of the live performance.  A panel of distinguished judges will watch and score each performance and winners will be announced at the end. The event will also air globally on the Vietnamese Boat People Podcast so people across the world can hear your story!
