Southeast Asian female-founded company, Tuk Tuk Box, launches their first-ever meal kit
November 15, 2021 (Los Angeles, CA) – Tuk Tuk Box – a Southeast Asian women-founded online food retailer sharing Southeast Asian experiences and culture through food – announced their first-ever meal kit. A phở meal kit designed with Vietnamese American influencer and founder of Cooking off the Cuff, Ly Nguyen, and community based organization, founded by Tracey Nguyen Mang, Vietnamese Boat People. Three core values at the heart of Tuk Tuk Box are: storytelling, uplifting the Southeast Asian community, and social change, making a collaborative product with Vietnamese Boat People and Cooking Off the Cuff a natural partnership.

Vietnamese Boat People, A call for VBP Journeys Participants
New York, NY: — The Vietnamese Boat People (VBP) podcast and nonprofit has announced a new initiative, the VBP Journeys map, a community-driven platform created to encourage intergenerational dialogue within families and communities, to share stories and histories, and to have a space to contribute photos, artifacts and legacies. www.vietnameseboatpeople.org/journeys
The project stems from the organization’s mission to preserve the stories of the Vietnamese diaspora across multi-generations. VBP Journeys is an open platform to allow individuals to contribute stories about themselves and/or their families. It is a first-of-its kind, crowd-sourced platform, designed to be for the community, and contributed by the community.

2nd Annual Mỹ Việt Story Slam announces the 2021 selected Storytellers
Seven Storytellers have been selected for the 2nd Annual Mỹ Việt Story Slam, a signature event hosted by Vietnamese Boat People Podcast and nonprofit, that showcases stories that reflect Asian American experiences.
This year’s theme is “2020, a year unlike any other,” with stories that range from the impacts of the pandemic on loved ones and mental health to the Black Lives Matter and Stop Asian Hate movement. Stories will be shared in varying mediums from spoken word to poetry to animation to music.

2021 Mỹ Việt Story Slam Open Call Begins
The 2021 Mỹ Việt Story Slam Open Call kicks off on Friday, January 8 for Vietnamese Boat People Podcast’s 2nd annual storytelling virtual event.
This year’s theme is ‘2020: A Year Unlike Any Other’. Individuals 18 and older, are invited to submit personal stories of their Vietnamese American perspective on how the events of 2020 have impacted them as Asian Americans, using various mediums including, but not limited to, spoken word, poetry, music, visual art, documentary, animation and more.

Vietnamese Boat People Podcast selected for PRX and Google Podcasts Creator Program
PRX and Google announced on Sept 30, 2020 the audio creators who will participate in the 2020–2021 Google Podcasts creator program, a podcast accelerator and training program for a global community. Vietnamese Boat People is among the 20 podcasts chosen from a global application process that reviewed close to 2,800 entries.

In the recognition of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Vietnamese Boat People Podcast is providing a virtual stage for participants to share their stories via a live virtual event called Mỹ Việt Story Slam....co-hosted with WHRO and sponsored by Asian Nation of Live Nation, Asian Women Giving Circle and PBS.
