Mỹ (American) Việt (Vietnamese) Story Slam is a virtual event for storytellers to share their Vietnamese American experiences. Thursday May 6, 2021 at 7pm ET/4pm PST RSVP at www.vietnameseboatpeople.org/storyslam ​ In celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage month, we will showcase Storytellers selected from a nationwide open-call to share their Vietnamese American stories on a live virtual platform. This will be a casual evening to view and celebrate the uniquenesses our community brings to the Asian American narrative. You might laugh, cry or be in total shock by the stories...either way, you will be entertained.

Kyle Nguyen was born and raised in Orange County, CA, he is currently a 3rd year Sociology major with a minor in Asian American Studies at UCLA. Vinh Nguyen is a '90s kid who loves Jesus. He is happily married to his wife, Stephanie, and together they have 3 kids, His 2 month old son, he is currently very tired. But that's not stopping Vinh from sharing Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with his 8th grade students in Philadelphia. Lộc "Leo" Nguyễn is a comedian born and raised in Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. At 16, via a generous scholarship, he went to the U.S. to study politics at the best democracy in the world -- only to severely question his decision after the 2016 election. He graduated from Augustana College in 2018 with degrees in Politics and Theater -- and was the college's 2-time Last Comic Standing winner.
