MEET THE JUDGES

All submissions must be emailed according to guidelines by November 18, 2018. Finalists will be chosen by the organization and announced on November 30, followed by an opportunity for the public to voice their favorites on Instagram. Judges will review all finalists' submissions, taking into consideration the public votes and select a winner for a $1,500 scholarship. Additionally, the finalist with the most public votes will receive a "People's Choice Award", a runner-up prize of $500 scholarship.

Bonnie Wong

Asian Women in Business

Bonnie is the founder and President of Asian Women in Business (AWIB), a national non-profit organization for Asian women entrepreneurs and professionals. Under Bonnie's leadership, AWIB is known as an innovative and proactive force in the community, in promoting leadership and business development for Asian Americans. 

She is a member of the Multicultural Audience Development Initiative of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; member of the Board of Trustees of the Museum of the City of NY (representing Scott Stringer); member of the Diversity Advisory Board of Ogilvy & Mather; member of Mayor deBlasio's Advisory Council on MWBEs and member of NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer's Advisory Council on Economic Growth.

Ben Selkow

Director & Executive Producer

Ben is an award-winning non-fiction film and television director, executive producer, and showrunner whose work has been exhibited on Netflix, HBO, CNN, Sundance TV, Discovery, Participant Media, PBS/America ReFramed, Esquire Network, and at film festivals such as SXSW, Tribeca, Hot Docs and DOC NYC.

 

Most recently, he was the executive producer and a director on Netflix's new 8-part hip hop docu-series entitled "Rapture." Previously, he directed and produced episodes for CNN's "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" filming in Hue, Vietnam, as well as the Mississippi Delta. He was also the series director for CNN's religion docu-series "Believer with Reza Aslan." He has directed and produced projects that has had him collaborate with Mos Def aka Yasiin Bey, Nat Faxon & Jim Rash, and Zachary Levi while filming in Japan, Morocco, Zambia, Haiti, India, Israel, Dominican Republic, Korea, France, Czech Republic, Chile, Mexico, and all over the United States.

Vu Nguyen

UX Designer

Vu is a senior UX product designer at ConsenSys, a venture production studio focused on building and scaling tools, disruptive startups, and enterprise software products powered by decentralized technology, specifically Ethereum. The organization's mission is to use these solutions to power the emerging economic, social, and political operating systems of the planet.

 

He is a UX designer with broad advertising and agency background and over eighteen years of experience in print and web design, user interface (UI) concept design, UI specification, marketing, branding and user experience strategy. He is well-versed in product design, usability best practices, and strategic multi-channel communications. His area of expertise also includes providing strategic planning and creating user experience prototypes.

Graphic Designer

Briana is a designer and visual storyteller. Her passion for conceptual, intentional design has led her to create award-winning, high-profile designs for Allure Magazine and USA TODAY. She combines her knowledge of marketing, editorial, and branding to create innovative experiences across digital, print, and social.

Her multidisciplinary knowledge allows her to reinvigorate and refine brands by developing a visual system that captures each brand's unique voice.
